A NEW CHAPTER FOR SCALA

From 8th September, REEL Ilkeston - fondly known locally as the Scala - will begin a new chapter under Premiere Property, who are committed to honouring its proud history and continuing its role at the heart of the community. 

 

The Scala - not so secretly our late founder KC Suri’s favourite cinema - has been at the heart of Ilkeston since 1913, and the warmth, dedication, and care shown by the team have ensured it remains a place the community treasures. Everyone who has worked there has also played a part in making REEL what it is today. This change is in line with REEL’s strategy for growth and our plan to align time, resources, and investment to support long-term success - for the Scala itself and for REEL as a whole. 

 

There will be no disruption to operations. The full Scala team will remain in place, ensuring customers will continue to be welcomed by the same familiar faces who know the cinema, the community, and many guests by name. 

 

 We’re proud to have been part of the Scala’s story and will be cheering it on as it continues to thrive in its next chapter.
